Rules and Schedule

Rules

Sword Sparring

Minute and Half rounds, or first to 5 points. Strikes to body or head worth one point. Headgear required. Both hands must remain on sword for points to count. Nothing below the waist. Ages 13 and below. Single elmination.

Forms/Weapons

Scoring is based on a relative ranking with the other competitors. These are open divisions with all styles and disciplines. Music is allowed in the one musical division and Grand Championships.

Sparring Gear

Head Gear, Hands , Feet, Mouthpiece. Face shields Highly Encouraged.

Point Sparring

1 point hands , 2 point kicks 10 point spread 2 minute rounds. Light face contact is allowed. Penalties include excessive contact, disrespect, kicking low, running. Only 3 combined penalties allowed per match. Brackets of 3 or less will be round robin.

Karate Flag

1 minute rounds no grabbing, punching or kicking. Blocking is allowed and headgear is required. Available for ages 9 and below. Single elimination. Must pull flags from a standing position.

Grands

If you place first in your weapons or forms division you are eligible for grand championships.

8am doors open

9am 14-15 year old and 16-17 year old's all ranks male and female all ranks all divisions

10:30am 5 and under, 6-7 , 8-9,10-11, 12-13 all ranks all divisions

* Please note we will not have a concession stand this year * Drinks and snacks are allowed in the gym.
